This recipe is a nice variation from the usual French fries that you get from fast food joints or restaurants. It is easy, quick and simple to make and you can use any oil that you want, without government regulation. I don't know about you, but when the government starts telling businesses what oil that they can use for French fries, that’s when I stay home and make my own. I don't eat at fast food places very often but the last time I went to McDonalds; the French fries tasted like _____ (insert word). We need to vote all of the existing politicians out of office and start over, with ones that have common sense. Oh well, I'll get off my soap box and start the recipe.
Ingredients:
1 -2 - cup(s) of oil (your choice) 4 - 6 - sweet potatoes Sea Salt and Black Pepper (optional)
Preparation:
I like to cook the potatoes raw, so here goes. Wash and peel potatoes, then slice lengthwise into strips, kinda like regular fries. Heat oil in pan to around 375 degrees; make sure oil covers the potatoes and cook until golden brown. Take out of pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper (optional). Let cool a minute and eat. Can use ketchup or instead of the salt, use a little brown sugar and Nutmeg or Cinnamon, if you have a sweet tooth.
