Southern Fried Chicken

Chicken Recipes

If you eat chicken a lot and want a truly unique southern flavor, then you need to try this recipe. You can buy a 3 lb. chicken and cut it into pieces or buy the chicken precut. You can mix white and dark meat or choose the meat you prefer. Wash and remove the excess fat from the chicken.

Get one bowl that is large enough to accommodate all the chicken. Beat 1 egg and 1 & 1/2 cups of milk together and put on top of chicken. Let the chicken soak in the egg/milk mixture for about 5 minutes. In one large bowl and put 2 cups of all-purpose flour, with 1 teaspoon of each, sea salt and fresh ground black pepper and mix thoroughly. I you have a fry daddy it is easier, but you can use a large skillet as well. Put in enough vegetable oil in to cover the chicken pieces and preheat to 375 degrees or on med-high. Once oil is hot dredge the chicken into the flour mixture and place in oil. Make sure chicken is not crowded and cook on each side until golden brown. Upon removing from oil, place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Now, if you are on a diet or have high blood pressure then maybe this recipe isn't for you. But believe me there was an Old Southern Gentleman that got very rich using a similar recipe.

If you like chicken and not afraid of calories, then this recipe is a must try. There was an old southern gentleman who made it big with a recipe like this.
