This is a good old fashion recipe that is hardy, simple and low cost menu item. This recipe feeds 4 - 6 servings so any leftovers can be frozen for future use. Cooking stews can be traced back to primitive man and was probably one of the first methods of cooking meat. You can take the toughest of meat and put it in stew, cook it as long as it takes to make the meat tender. Thicken the gravy and add vegetables and you have a well rounded meal. Well let's get to it.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 - lbs of beef 1/2 - cup of flour 3 - tbsp. of oil 1 - Cup of sliced onions 2 - Cups of diced potatoes 1 - Cup of sliced carrots 1/2 - cup of beef broth Sea salt, fresh ground pepper and paprika
Preparation:
Take a large pot heat up the oil, cut meat into 1 inch squares and combine flour, salt and paprika in a small bowl. Coat meat with a little oil and dip into flour mixture and put into pot. Brown the meat, add onions and brown too. Cover meat with water and place cover on pot, cook 1 hour on medium low heat. Add the potatoes and carrots, cover and continue to cook for 1/2 hour longer. Take leftover flour and add more if necessary for 2 tbsp. and mix with the 1/2 cup of cold beef broth. Stir gravy into the stew and bring to a quick boil, stirring during this process. Remove from heat, cover and let stand 15 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste and serve over rice, biscuits or as a soup.

Regular guy that enjoys cooking food as a hobby, although being single if I don't prepare my meals, who will? I like exotic foods and not afraid to try anything at least once. My motto is if you can eat it, then I can prepare it.
