If you want a good dip for football season that is healthy and filling, then this is it. Guacamole's main ingredient is avocados and they are a great source of vitamin E and has antioxidant abilities. What that means is that it is good for you and your health. So when you are eating chips and this dip, it's OK.
I usually like to make this dip at least 4 - 5 hours before serving, to enable the flavors to meld together. You want to serve this dip cold as the texture is best, when it gets warm it also gets runny. This dip is also good to be served with fresh made salsa as well. It will give you that south of the border feeling. Sounds good, let's start.
Ingredients:
2 - Large avocados 1 - Medium white onion (sliced & diced) 1/2 - teaspoon of minced fresh garlic 3/4 - tbsp. of lime juice (preferably fresh) 1 - tbsp. of olive oil 1 - Teaspoon of sea salt 1/2 - teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper 5 - 6 - drops of Tabasco sauce
Preparation:
I have found the best way to peel the avocados is to slice lengthwise in 1/2s and then slice into 1/3s. Then take your knife and cut as close as you can to the skin, removing it from the fleshy inside. You want to mash it in a bowl, but leave it a little chunky, I like texture. Then add the onion, garlic, salt, pepper, lime, oil and Tabasco, mix together. Place in serving dish and put the seed pit into center of mixture. Cover and place in refrigerator. The seed will prevent the mixture from darkening and becoming brown.
Now as with all my recipes, you could add different spices to make the flavor that best suits your tastes. If you like hot (spicy) food you could take a jalapeno pepper and mince and mix into the recipe, that will spice it up a bit. You should feel comfortable to experiment with flavor because everyone has different tastes. It’s what you like, not because that’s what the recipes sez. Enjoy, and remember GO GATORS!
Guacamole dip is great for football games and the season is coming on fast. So get ready for good food and good games.

I'm a man that loves to eat and eats to live. I have cooked my own meals for over 30 years, through neccesity and as a hobby. I enjoy a very wide variety of different foods from many cultures. Food transends boundries and beliefs so there are no conflicts with food, except maybe the for the lack of it. I hope to bring a better understanding of food preparation to all those that visit my website. So enjoy
