Baked Chicken Recipe

Chicken Recipes

This recipe is great as the drippings can be used as gravy for mashed potatoes. Now if you do use the drippings it is NOT going to be considered in any diet friendly item.

If you happen to be on a diet and have a dog(s) this is great for flavoring their dry/wet food. They will love it and love you for it. If you do use for dog food then you need to water it down a bit as you don't want your dog to have clotting of the arteries LOL :-). As expensive as vets are nowadays, which is a lot more expensive than your family doctor. You got to wonder where we are going as a society.

Oh well, here are the ingredients:

4 - Chicken leg quarters (skin on)
2 - 4 - chicken breasts (skin on)
1 - 2 - tbsp of olive oil
1 - Cup of water
1 - Tbsp of sea salt
1 - Tbsp of fresh ground black pepper
1 - Teaspoon of paprika
1 - Teaspoon of minced garlic

Preparation:

Wash and pat dry the chicken. Take a par-broil pan and place a cup of water with the garlic on the bottom and cover and place the chicken on top. Take the oil and coat the chicken with it and take the spices, mix in a bowl and sprinkle on top of the chicken. The oil makes the spices stick to the chicken real well. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and place on middle rack for 50 - 60 minutes. Time varies by oven model, check the chicken and when done, it should be browned on top.

Remove from oven very carefully, because of the hot liquids on bottom of pan. Remove chicken to serving dish and take top of pan off. You can use corn starch or flour to thicken the gravy, mix starch or flour in small bowl with cool water before mixing with drippings.

With this recipe I change and add different spices to make it taste any you want, if you eat a lot of chicken, it won't ever get boring.

Good old fashioned baked chicken recipe and gravy for mashed potatoes. Season any way you wish makes this dish so versatile.

Regular guy that enjoys cooking food as a hobby, although being single if I don't prepare my meals, who will? I like exotic foods and not afraid to try anything at least once. My motto is if you can eat it, then I can prepare it. Article writing is new to me and if I get real good at it, maybe I'll author my own book. Find my recipes at www.successfulcookingfroma-z.com.
